I decided to big chop a little over 5 years ago and I haven't looked back. Since going natural, I wanted to start using natural products for my hair and body. I came across African Black Soap during my natural hair journey and started making my own shampoo. I am so glad that I did! African Black Soap is a part of my weekly hair shampoo routine. I also recommend this shampoo for men! Its also a great shampoo for them to use to cleanse their hair and beards. Don't forget to check out my beard balms! They come in amazing scents.
Here are the ingredients in my African Black Soap Shampoo:
- Distilled water
- African Black Soap
- Organic Jojoba Oil
- Argan Oil
- Vitamin E
- Essential Oils: Lavender, Peppermint
- We recommend only using the Unscented African Black Soap Shampoo for cleansing a man's beard.
African Black Soap is great for the hair and scalp. It is antiviral, antifungal, and has antibacterial properties. I love using African Black Soap because it really cleanses the scalp and hair of any oils or products you have used for the week. It leaves your hair squeaky clean. So clean, that it has the tendency to over dry your hair and scalp. This is why I added some of my favorite oils that are great at moisturizing your hair and gentle on your scalp. African Black Soap is great for you if you suffer from eczema and a itchy dry scalp. It also increases hair growth if you are having any problems with shedding or bald spots. I use this shampoo weekly and my hair and scalp loves it! Did I mention how awesome this shampoo is at lathering? I love a good lather and with the added essential oils, my scalp tingles and feels refreshed. We also recommend using only our Unscented African Black Soap Shampoo for men when cleansing their beards.
Organic Jojoba Oil is great for moisturizing dry itchy scalps year round. If you are having trouble with dandruff, this shampoo will help remedy that problem. Jojoba is full of vitamins that help to nourish your hair and scalp without leaving it greasy. Vitamin C, B, E, copper, and zinc are present in jojoba oil. This oil can prevent loss, strengthen, promote thickness, and add shine to your hair.
Argan Oil is known as "liquid gold" and for good reasons. This oil is great to use on your scalp and it can help alleviate any dandruff issues you may be experiencing. This oil alleviates dandruff by regulating the sebum that is on your scalp, soothes inflammed skin, reduces itchiness/redness, and this helps to keep the scalp nice and clean. This oil is also great for hair growth and this is because it is full of Vitamin E.
Lavender Essential Oil is my favorite oil to use in my products. This essential oil is soothing for the skin and the senses. The scent of this shampoo will carry you off to a field full of lavender. You will love the smell of this sweet floral fragrance.
Using Peppermint Essential Oil on your scalp will allow you to experience an amazing cooling sensation that will ease your senses.
How to Use: Shake well before each use. Saturate hair with water until it is soaking wet, to get the most out of the shampoo. For thicker hair, section the hair into 4 parts. Then, saturate a section of the hair with water. Next, squeeze a small amount of the shampoo into that section. Last, lather and rinse. Be sure to follow-up with a deep conditioner. Make sure the shampoo does not get in your eyes. The essential oils will irritate your eyes so be careful.
