It has taken me a while to create the recipe for this lip balm and let me tell you, it was worth the time and effort. I wanted to create a lip balm that would keep your lips moisturized and feeling great throughout the day.
I used some of my favorite ingredients in this lip balm and I hope you enjoy it!
- Organic Calendula Infused Golden Jojoba Oil Lip Balm
- Whole Calendula Flowers
- Vitamin E Oil
- Babassu Oil
- Argan Oil
- Flavors: Grapefruit, Peppermint, Cucumber Melon
- Keep in mind any allergies of foods as some of my products do contain some derivatives of nuts, seeds, fruits, vegetables. Also keep in mind any allergies to bees, as some of my products are made with some form of bee products.
- Before opening lip balms, allow them to sit at room temperature. They may melt during shipping.
For this recipe, I used Organic Golden Jojoba Oil and I infused the oil with Whole Calendula Flowers over a period of 4 weeks. I am addicted to infusing oils! In the future, I will be selling infused oils in my Shopify store so be on the lookout. Calendula flowers have amazing healing properties that promote cell repair/growth, are anti-inflammatory, has antiseptic properties, and is known for being soothing for the skin. Especially, for those of us who have eczema or psoriasis. I love using infused oils in my products because of their healing and antiseptic properties.
Beeswax helps the recipe to solidify without becoming to hard. Beeswax provides much needed protection for the skin, offers anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial benefits. I've found that beeswax keeps my lips from becoming irritated and I do not constantly lick my lips. Beeswax helps with keeping my lips moisturized, helps ward off bacterial infections (cold sores), and provides a protective shield that seals in moisture.
Vitamin E is great for relieving chapped, dry lips year round. Vitamin E promotes cell regeneration by bringing new cells to the surface of your lips. This is important if you want your lips to remain smooth and irritant free.
Babassu Oil has become one of my favorite oils to use. I love how this oil melts into my skin without leaving behind a greasy film. This multipurpose oil works wonders for every inch of your skin so I decided to add it to my lip balms. This oil alleviates dryness and itching that is most commonly associated with irritated lips. This oil is packed with vitamin E, antioxidants, fatty acids, and lauric acids. Lauric acid offers anti-microbial, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory properties. Now, you see why I just had to add Babassu oil to my lip balm!!
Argan Oil is another great oil that I like to incorporate into my products. This oil is a great option to use for lips that are sunburned, dry, or have any form of irritation. Argan oil has the ability to deeply penetrate the skin well below the surface. This oil is gentle and is hands down one of my all time favorite oils to use.
The Cucumber Melon Flavor is safe to use on your skin and this lip balm will give you great vibes.Your lips will smell like a slice of summer year round.
The Grapefruit Flavor is safe to use on your skin and there is a surprise. Your lips will be moisturized and they will taste great!
The Peppermint Flavor is safe to use on your skin and there is an added bonus, your lip balm will actually taste like peppermint! Also, your lip balm will have a great cooling sensation. Your lips will thank you.
